Rock concerts all over the world
Rock music is one of the most loved musical genre that has countless fans all over the world. As a proof to this is the big number of people coming to the rock concerts to hear their favourite artists performing live on a stage,at such a small distance from them.Little by little the number of rock concerts has icreased in the last few years and now several rock demonstration and festivals are a tradition every year.
Maybe one of the most famous rock concert was Woodstock, held in August 1969 in Bethel,New York.Rock bands performed in front of an audience made of 500 000 people. It was a whole weekend of rock music and a documentary was made after this festival.Another notable rock festival was in 1982,during the Labor day weekend and then a year later again, during the Memorial Day weekend, where 670 000 people came to see their favourite rock bands singing on the stage. The US Festival, held in California, was sponsorized by Steve Wozniak who apparently lost a few millions with this investment because the show didn’t brought as much favourable critics as it was expected too.
The Altamore Concert was the memorable Rolling Stones stop Tour of America. It was supposed to take place at the Golden Gate Park but the organizers didn’t get the necessary permits in time so the final location for the Altamore Event was decided to be the Sears Point Raceway, but with only a day before the concert begun it had to be moved to the Altamore Raceway.More than 300 000 people came at this free festival and this was a problem for the organizers because they weren’t prepared with enough bathrooms or medical health equipments and the stage was not high enough so the people in the back round can see.The problems didn’t stopped here. The Security company hired staff was not very capable to do its job because they consumed beer and drugs and started fighting. Many documentaries were made about the Altamore rock festival and it is considered to be the most violent in the history of rock concerts.A less violent rock concert was the Power Ridge,in 1970,Connecticut and 30 000 people payed US $ 20 per ticket to see famous rock bands performing, like Joe Cocker or Van Morisson. The concert was not held by the initial schedule because it was stopped from happening by the injunctionpeople in that town made, who were afraid the crowd will make a big mess.People showed up anyway even if most of the bands didn’t sang.
